Today is the day, an even more special festival than usual as it’s our 100th Birthday! We are super excited and hope you can all come and join us for a day, jam packed full of fun!

The Parade will start off the festivities 12pm sharp from Kingsway School and finish around 12.45 at the bottom of Gatley Hill.  Please take note that all roads on our parade route will close during these times. We also ask that residents who live on the direct route to kindly park their cars off the road to allow the parade to pass safely.

Joining us in our parade this year are our fantastic local schools, dance and performance groups, sports teams, parade, and pipe bands, drag queens, stilt walkers, drummers, and spider man! Please give them a big cheer and a wave as they pass by.

The parade will also be live streamed on Facebook by our friends from Stockport Tourism if you cannot join us until later in the day.

The field will be open following the parade and we have an amazing day planned for you all. If you can, please buy your programmes from one of the following local businesses and perhaps grab yourself a drink whilst you are watching the parade:

Zalos Café, Bodega, Horse, and Farrier, Bibita and the Prince of Wales

Programmes are £2.50 and act as your ticket (under 16s are free)!

Those with programmes will be able to walk through our fast-track point at the top of the hill. If you are buying them on entry, we will be accepting both card and cash payments.

Please also note that there will be no parking on Gatley Hill for the festival field from 7am – 6pm as our team and the vendors will need access all day, please be respectful of this as it is only a few minutes- walk from surrounding residential streets in which you can leave your cars.

On our festival field we have over 50 stalls selling amazing produce, hair and facepainting, a variety of sweet and savoury food, games, community and charity stalls, a photo booth, bungee trampolines, 4 bars, a HUGE fairground and back by popular demand the Donkeys and Owls at the far end of the field! Please note that some of our stalls and entertainment vendors are cash only.

We also have a special 100th year selfie area with a flower wall, balloon arch and GatFest Frames. For the first couple of hours there will also be an opportunity to have your pictures taken with our stilt walkers, drag queens and acrobatic spiderman!!

The entertainment at our GatFest Live arena is bigger and better for our centenary celebrations. From 1pm we have performances from our local groups, followed by an eclectic mix of bands and singers until 6pm. Alongside our arena we will have a circus workshop for the kids. We also have a separate performance area to entertain you all on the grass at Gatley Hill house.

Lastly, but of course most importantly, a HUGE thank you to all businesses, suppliers, artists, our amazing volunteers and all of our local community who have made this day possible.

Come and join us it is going to be one EPIC day!!!
